September 4/5/6 | 115 Waterloo Rd, Cookeville, TN
The biggest little D.I.Y. fest in Tennessee, since 2010. A home for all the folks in-between scenes.

Headliners up top. The full bill keeps growing right up to the gates.
Circle Jerks hardcore. Monolord doom. Mac Sabbath fast food metal. Frankie and the Witch Fingers psych. The Tillers folk. Muddy Roots has never picked a lane, it picks honesty.
Every act gets hand lettered into the same circus frame and dropped on the socials, week after week. Watch the wall fill up.
Two stages run dusk to dawn. Weekend passes include free camping and free hot showers, so you can roll in Friday, post up anywhere on the ranch, and stay through Monday.
Bring an RV, a tent, a school bus, or a 1956 country star touring bus. We do not care. Just be good to your neighbors and the land.

Muddy Roots stays independent because the community funds it. Patrons get presale access, behind-the-gate stories, and tiered members unlock the private "Keys To The Kingdom" performance inside the festival.

Vinyl, tapes, CDs, and merch from the artists who define the Muddy Roots sound. Independent pressings, no middlemen.

Weekend passes are your best bet, and they include free camping and free hot showers. Arrive Friday and leave Monday, and you can come and go all weekend. One pass gets you every performing act, with the exception of one private set for tiered Patreon members, the "Keys To The Kingdom." Do not need a full weekend? Show up at the gate on the day you can and single day tickets will be available for the rest of the show. Kid tickets are discounted and only sold at the gate.
Get TicketsWe have 127 acres for you to spread out on. Park and camp just about anywhere you like, except on vendor row, at no extra charge. Bring an RV, camper, tent, U-Haul, hotrod, school bus, or a vintage 1956 country star touring bus. We do not care. But there are no hookups, and do not bring a loud generator. Be mindful of your neighbors or you may be asked to leave with no refund. There are several hotels in Cookeville and the surrounding towns.
There are many food and drink vendors onsite, including two bars. BYOB is fine, and so is cooking and grilling out at your campsite. Pick up your mess and be safe with fire. It is all at your own risk.
115 Waterloo Rd, Cookeville, TN 38506 is the address, but sometimes that sends you to a house across the road. Look for the Junebug Boogie Ranch. We are about 15 miles north of I-40 in Cookeville. BNA airport is about 90 miles away and Knoxville airport is about 115 miles. Greyhound goes to Cookeville. From there you may need a carpool, Uber, Lyft, or taxi.
No dogs, guns, knives, or bad attitudes. For clarity, you may cook with knives, but leave your Crocodile Dundee hip knife at camp. Legal service dogs are permitted. This is private property. Neither the ADA nor Tennessee's service animal law covers so called emotional support animals. Do not push your luck, or you will find out what it is like to be sent packing.
There are actually two of them, one small and one large, both at Waterloo Falls and Events. You may walk there from the fest grounds or take the shuttle provided each day for $5 round trip. Do not park alongside the road or on the waterfall lot. The shuttle stop is near the ticket booth at the Junebug Ranch. The falls are on private property and not open to the public during the festival, just for us. Bring water shoes, the river rock can be slippery. Be careful and look out for each other.
We would love to have you. Reach out to milt@muddyroots.com and the crew will get you set up with sponsorship, advertising, or a vendor booth.
